When you finally decide to replace the XRS I have a solution that meets your requirements. Honda Civic Si sedan. 8,000 rpm, 4 doors, and it will do 30k / year...no problem.

Old E30 parts and such aren't really that bad; not for a German car, not for any car. I was in college when I bought mine. The newer BMWs get, the more costly and often the repairs come.

Bought an '11 Civic Si brand new. My Xrs now has over 225k miles. I still like it better. I now need to get a beater so i can do an overhaul on it. I'm tempted to find another one, or get a GTS.
