if it's a straight 6.. I can see the need for the turbos. It's a LONG engine and you will need two turbos.. (1 for 3 cylinders) to get the turbos close to the head to allow for minimal heat and pressure loss.

The third is just to eleminate lag.

The Toyota Supra had 2 turbos

It's a diesel, that's the issues, but now it does "0 to 62 KPH times are reported as being about 5 seconds, with horsepower up 70 horses over the current two turbo 6 cylinder diesel and torque of OVER 500 lbs/ft. "

That's not an issue, that's inspiration!

    62km/h? That's only 38mph. 62mph is 100km/h. My 140hp 318ti can do the dash to 38 in less than 5 seconds.

    In reply to mad_machine:

I'm assuming that the original poster meant 100kph/62mph. Otherwise, yes, very unimpressive.

Don't most people upgrade them with single turbos?

Depends what you're going for. The Supra had a sequential turbo setup, not true twins.

Many keep the twins for their response. If you're going for a lot of power, though, a big single is the NORMAL answer.
