A guy on my local SCCA forum just posted this:

That's cool but not $7500 cool...

Yeah, the price took me aback as well, but then again, it probably cost more than that to build and develope... and it's a lot easier to start high with the price you would like to get and come down than to sell cheaply if you don't have to.

Agreed, but I would be all over that for $2500!

The problem is that almost no "backyard" swap like that is going to command serious money in the secondary market.

It was a questionable chassis when it was new let alone almost 30 years later!

Yeah, he's more than double the realistic price. I'd give him $7500 for it, but I'd need $5000 back in change. But the more I looked at that first picture, the want grew in my loins. Do a little suspension work to it, play with the motor a bit and hunt for Mustangs and F-bodies all day long. Oh would that be fun!

Keep in mind that the price some of you are talking about only gets you a WRECKED srt-4. There's absolutely no realistic way to expect to get something with a functional srt-4 drivetrain (+upgrades) and suspension, a running car, for the same price as a WRECKED srt-4. It's completely unrealistic, k-car or not. Just sayin..

A lot of work went into that car. There are build threads on turbododge and turbo-mopar. I like it very much.

While I know you're right, I had a hard time getting 3k for my SRT swapped 1G ACR.

How much money that goes into something like this, or how much money it would cost to replicate rarely have much to do with it's value if you try to sell it.

Has anyone done this swap on a Daytona?
