Always check the drain pan before refilling anything!
Friday night i changed the rear tranny seal on my dads miata... not much room up around there.... but when i drained the trans i dropped the plug in the pan. i fished it out cleaned it off and put it back in. get everything backtogether about to put the car back on the ground, decide to put the oil into a container first. while doing that this nice shiny metal ring appears in the bottom of the drain pan.... i was pissed. but glad i hadnt put the car on the ground yet.
just one of those evenings...
