I'm selling the 2006 Scion xB and I have one of those interfaces to use my cell and Torque app. Should I keep the interface for another vehicle, or is it worth it?

Bought a 2001 Subaru Impreza, and who knows what I'll have in a year or two.

I have used mine on 3 completely different OBDII vehicles with no issues. They were from 1997, 2010, and 2012. Keep it.

I found the Subaru's port this weekend, makes it stick straight down into my shin. I don't see me leaving this in the car like I did the Scion. (Unless I can find a much shorter one or a cable to extend it to the side.)

They do make a shorter version now. Search amazon.

Not all of them are built the same. I bought a bunch of them for stocking stuffers @$12/ea last year. The V6 MR2 has the OBD2 port in the trunk, and some identical units didn't have the range to get up to the cabin.

My buddy had a ~2004 Sable and the shorty wouldn't work, but the full size one would.

Still a great time we're living in when you can get Torque Pro and an ELM327 interface for under $20.

Even the basic free Torque is good

It's true! I mostly paid the $5 for Torque Pro because I want them to keep at it and/or I was so thankful for the app I wanted to buy the developer a pint

I did Pro too. For $5 I can't even get a decent burger.

I just found one that someone mentioned using their S3 phone and WRX, sounded safe after wading through all the comments that they did or didn't work. Looks like I'll have an extra, maybe for the fiancee's Element.
