Strangely, Mann or Mahle on the 8v Golf (the local "old school" import parts store in town can get them), but STPs on the Corrados because the only other ones I can find at O'reillyPepZone are Fram. I change every 3K, even on synthetic, so I hope using the cheapies aren't hurting me too much.

I run an ac delco filter and motorcraft oil in the camaro. Mid grade prices and quality.
I think it is more important to change the oil regularly than run something super special in the car.

Anyone know of a nice interchange tool where I could drop in a Purolator part number and find out all the other brands that offer an equivalent?

Any parts house has a part interchange in their computer. They also have interchange books. If they say they "can't" they are lying to you. I work at a big one. I know.
