  Not exact, no- but close enough. And may even be close enough that the calibration was done by Ford and not Mazda. For sure, I know all of the later 3.5l calibration was done here for the 6 and the CX9, so I'm guessing that the earlier 3.0l was done here now. (not that it will happen any longer.... oh, well)

  and i will not do nitrous. have to go directport injection with this car and more money than i wanna spend (also cant afford a turbo setup right now) to do that. not doing direct port is just a good way to blow up the motor. ill play around with airflow and get a lsd before a turbo or nitrous gets anywhere near this car. and ya nawwwws stickers no thankyou. with the exception of my possible hoodscoop and a few stickers for suspension stuff (which is actually on the car) if it doesnt make the car nicer to drive it doesnt go into the car. i prefer functional as apposed to a 100 lb body kit and 18 inch chrome rims that wiegh 30 lbs each all while putting fart cannons on with the rest of exhaust system stock

  that's the part I'm not sure you can do much about it. Or need to.

  What cal mods have been done? Basically, it may have missed some other changes to desired a/f or spark, which would run more fuel regardless what you do to cool the intake manifold or runners. So the real goal is to keep the air to the MAF as cool as possible, and keeping the engine as cool as possible (which lowers the heat soak reactions that might be happening).

  yes the zephys milan and fusion are the same and block the same on a tribute and taurus but heads are entirely diff. different from the jaguar aj heads also doubt the calibration is the same in that different ecms and different powwer output and characteristics between the fords and mazdas.

  Oh, and if you want to make serious power- what's the company that uses this engine for it's exotic cars? I can't think of the name right now, but I think it's something like 450hp or so, with turbos.

  Just need to move the engine to the rear wheels....

  alfu the maf is about 3 inches from the bend down into fender which is as close as it may be without being too turbulent. awr radiator. 160 degree thermostat and fan controller. first fan coming on at 160 and second at 175. spark is advance 6 degrees above 4500 rpm and 4.5 degrees below that. heads are planed 40 thousands with a complete pandp lower intake is ported and best possible job i could do porting the upper was done being that its plastic. 3.7 liter throttle body is run. and 28 lb injectors

  Maybe not the same, but closer than most think. And it's still possible that even with the module change, it could have been calibrated here in Dearborn.... Not that it's ANY help here, I know.

  But the power output... let me put it this way- the MKS Ecoboost is 355hp, and the Taurus SHO is 365hp.... hmmmmm.

  basic spark and fuel targets will be the same.

  The more I think if it, an intercooler may be the answer. Anyone ever tried it without boost?

  alfa the noble motor. yes i am familiar with it. and have toyed with the idea of building a mid/rear engine car with a duratec 30 lower end and 9:1 pistons and duratec25 svt heads and svt intake mani and 2 t3/t4 hybrids and having some real fun.

  i am completely happy with my 270 whp.

  sperlo intercooler on a na car is the same thing as running a cai. no point too it unless water to air under the intake manifold... if im not mistaken ford has experimented with this idea as a means of a tempory power boost useing the ac system to cool the cooler and inject sub freezing air.

  lol actually i wanted to commit sacrilage and put something like that motor into a fiero.... or mr2 and no telling my partner about my wants... she will kill me if i mention building another car before we build her a camaro.

  I take it that the temp sensor at the airbox is integral with the MAF sensor and not separate? Could just move the sensor to the intake and get the actual intake temp. Not sure what that'd do to the rest of the tune though.

  That's what PowerWorks did with the supercharger kit I have on my Focus. IAT function was moved from the MAF to a seperate sensor placed in the intake manifold after the supercharger and intercooler.

  Not sure what effect it would have on a tune but it definitely gives a more accurate IAT.

  im going to look into if it would be a matter of just running 2 or 3 wires and useing the one ive installed in the plenum or if its more involved than that. if it was done on a focus my guess would be it can be done.
