Just curious. How many of you (GRM staffers excluded) are reading this forum from work ?? I'm retired ,so I can claim to be innocent. But,I only retired in November, so maybe ,I might have looked from work, but only occasionally and always at lunch, as far as I can recollect. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I can tell you traffic is about 20% lower on weekends.

As the official Content Manager of AutoTraderClassics.com, I can honestly say that visiting this site is part of my job. I am required to keep up to date on the pulse of the automotive world. This includes reading magazines at work (we have a circulation set up internally), reading auto news blogs, going to car shows, being active in car clubs, and even visiting forums. So I actually get PAID to post this, so I don't feel so bad.

Probably because people are usually out doing what they can only read about during the week. Wrenchin' and racin' and car shows and etc. Then they talk about it all week during lulls at work.

Does this revelation qualify me as a social scientist?

Yup, around 20%. But I've found similar numbers on pretty much every site I've ever tracked (and I've tracked a LOT of sites).

A lot of folks are surfing at work, but remember, there are also a lot of folks who are busy doing stuff on the weekend instead of sitting at a computer.

Just guessing, but about the only sites I can think of that are likely to get more traffic on weekends are sites devoted to televised athletics. ESPN, for example, may see big spikes in traffic over the weekend as people watch games. But that's pure speculation.

    Stefain,

You wouldn't happen to be hiring right now, would you? I happen to know how to browse automotive websites and read car mags, too. I read at least 2 dozen magazines a month, so I'm sooopremely qualified.

I work from a home office. This is my "break room/water cooler social interaction".

Other than the local autox forum, this is the only place I hang out on the interweb.

I'm at work right now. I work in auto parts, so I occasionally (thought very rarely) pimp out my place of employment here, so it's kinda work related. That's a pretty big stretch though.

Slefain should email me about advertising in our magazine or some sort of cross promotion. Or at least give me the name of the person I need to talk with about some sort of partnership.

I've got an assembly open in SolidWorks and the bracket should be..."different". This is "clearing my mind" so the idea will cogitate. I had an idea a couple years ago that saves literally millions and millions of dollars, so I guess they put up with this in speculation.
