I do. I stare at a computer for 8 hours straight for my job. I've got nothing but time to burn.

I do contract/freelance/project work and sometimes I will surf the net at the hotel while waiting for the guys to come down. Other than that, it's more of on my days off since i'm usually on the road and out in the field when i'm working..

Other people go to the lunchroom for a coffee break or step outside for a smoke - I take a few minutes now and then to do a little surfing.

Can't blame you, there. I, also, spent much of my Matlab class on GRM.

I do the same thing. My coworkers go and walk around the shop and "check on an order". I sometimes am at my desk up to 11 hours.

I don't get to have a computer at work. I may be the last one with a note pad a couple No.2 pencils.

blocked... i used to be able to check in from my laptop using the companies lan line, instead of the idiot terminals. Now they've done something about that as well and I get the "unauthorized address" even on my own laptop (which i have to bring if i want to do anything productive, like cut and paste, or create a spreadsheet...) On the upside I can still check Fleabay and Craigslist at work, so there may be at least some hope for the IT nazis running the system.. I'm usually too busy actually working to be surfing anyhow, but it would be nice to be check in from work on occasion...
I have no.2 pencils, and still actually WRITE in a my planner, no palm/blackberry/pc scheduler for me!

Try using the RSS from this website. That way you can read a bunch of the articles through Outlook. I dont know if it'll still work if the sites being blocked but its worth a shot. Thats one way I read GRM while at work, that and the website,... like now!

I do. Sometimes I have lots of idle time. Sometimes I'm so idle I can spend most of my time surfing for days at a time.
The IT department is like a fire department plus construction crew...if nothing's being built and nothing's on fire, we're not doing anything. And I just finished one mother of a house (investbarbados.org) so I'm idle again...at least for now, I gotta start some major work on our VoIP PBX tomorrow.

Still a "new reader" after 14 years of subscription. Seems like a field promotion might be in order, but that's aside from the point. The Coast Guard blocked GRM, so I'm left to divide my 4 extra hours per day between my family, my beverages, my sustenance and my vehicles. GRM online doesn't make enough hay to elevate my status.

You can't tell because I'm behind 7 proxies.
I read from work. It gets lonely down here in the bunker with only my keymate to keep me company. I used to do correspondence courses. After I got my PHD in Paleontology I got bored. I'm an ordained minister but I can't hear God this far underground. So, I read GRM.
I'm hoping to make the first Challenge car powered by enriched uranium. Anyone got any oven mitts?

I can check it from work since I work for a car company. It's related, right?

I check it from work, but then again, that's one of the things I pay myself to do. Makes up for the days when I have to unclog the toilets, or remind the staffers of what big dorks they are. Oh, wait, I enjoy that last part...
