Gridlife describes itself simply: “#GRIDLIFE is all about the merging of multiple automotive cultures.” Since its Road Atlanta debut in 2016, the question every year has been “Did it work?”

After spending this year’s festival watching, camping, and partying, we’d have to say yes. We made it our mission to see every aspect of Gridlife, a goal that had us awake at dawn and up past midnight. We watched teams prep to go on track, cheered for drifters and track drivers through nightfall, and partied long after sunset for each night’s full set of live music. It was exhausting–but it was also the best time we’ve had all year. Who played? Artists like Killer Mike, Slander, and Tokyo Machine. Who drove? Big drift names like Ryan Tuerck and Chris Forsberg, along with road racers from our world like Doug Wind and Savanna Little.

My mom actually drove me around in one of those, a blue 5-speed, and it's the first memory I have riding in a car as a kid. Nothing like those sliding seatbelts!

That car we saw at Gridlife was absolutely spotless, inside and out.

A blue '82 was my first car.  Looks exactly the same, other than the pop-up headlights.  I think I'm a FWD track driving enthusiast because of that car.
