The ATF and acetone mix really works on rusted bolts. I used it to get the windshield wiper arm off on Dr.Linda's Europa. 2 days of my throwing everything else at it (WD40, even Marvel's MMO) did nothing. As a last ditch WTF, I tried the ATF/acetone and the thing practically undid itself.

Acetone will not hurt aluminum. . . Muriatic acid / hydrochloric acid will!
