OK, maybe not a big deal for our Canadian friends, but I saw a Pontiac Wave on the highway today. Not an overly impressive car (Chevy Aveo perhaps?) but it was cool to see a car that isn't sold in the states. It was on I-79. BTW, is there anyone left in Ontario or are you all just driving along I-79 doing 55 in the left lane? I swear every other plate is from Ontario.

Pontiac always had versions of Chevrolet products that you couldn't buy in the US, or unique names for the Canadian market (all 10 who would buy Pontiacs, at any rate). Tempest, Acadian, Canso, Pursuit, Wave . . . I'm sure there are others, too.

I had a Budget rental one time for spring break -- a Pontiac Tempest (re-badged Corsica) with unlimited mileage. The clerk was quite surprised when we returned it with over 5000 kilometres more on the odometer then when we picked it up.

One of the coolest Pontiac's we could get that you yanks couldn't: a 1970 LT1 powered Acadian (aka Nova). The body work was just different enough that it looked like a different car, coupled with the 360hp LT1 and a 4 speed; YUM!

In reply to the OP, there's still a lot of us left in Ontario, and quite a few going 140 km/h on the 401 trying to get out of the way of the crazy speed demons from Quebec.

The 427 powered Parisienne was a pretty cool car.

Looks like you're not getting this, either

Too bad they won't sell any because of the price.

Wrong. I saw one on the dealers lot last week in Frederick, MD. Sticker said 23K and that was with some optional equipment.

We are a little slow getting them here. They have been at some dealers in other parts of the US for a month.

Road tests on the Transit Connect ALWAYS mention how sllllooooowwww it is, followed by it's dismal fuel economy. I picked up 2 different brochures on it at a Ford dealer last month. It's rated at 22 city and 28 highway. Apparently you can't have fuel economy and barn door silloutes (sp?) along with heavy (for the "footprint") curb weights....who knew.

Hmm. It said on the build sheet, in big letters, NOT FOR SALE OR USE in the USA, so I looked on the Ford US site, and didn't see it. Funky looking little truck. The one here was rated at 36 MPG highway. Thats not bad, and it should be possible. My Canyon gets 35 if I drive it sensibly on the highway.

    different gallon.

    maybe cause it's diesel.. I don't know.

There are two transit connects at Monaco ford in Glastonbury Ct. Saw them yesterday.

Different gallon for sure, but the point is, thats still pretty good MPG for a small van.

It is the 2.0 gas motor.

Odd how a post on Pontiacs ended up about a Ford truck Any way the Wave supercedes the Firefly.

    No.

    No 2 door cars.

If there were, I would have to hire people to keep up with the business.

Yes we are still here. From what we see here there is nobody left in New Jersey or Ohio because they must all be up here!

    Nissan X-trail
This was Nissan's answer to the CRV and Rav4 that went to Canada and not to the US. Now replaced with the Rouge which is offered in US and Canada.

'09 was the first year for the G3. But yeah, I've never seen on in person, and it's not surprising, since I see absolutely no point to a rebadged Aveo.

The Transit van is listed on the US Ford site, but they may not have the diesel here. They don't have much listed in the way of specs.
