The upcoming Koni race from VIR is gonna look like an old Trans Am race

I was on the fence about going...I'm leaving work at 5:00 and going home and packing a bag !!
Now that's what I like to see. I can't wait for Daytona this year!
Sure wish I could see them at VIR though. That's got to be one of the top-5 best looking tracks in the country. Probably #1, but I haven't been everywhere yet.
AWWWEEESSSOOOMMMEEE!!!
Now that's a racing series!
should be VERY interesting. I can see it being Camaro>Mustang>Challenger
NOT FRIGGIN TELEVISED!!! Thanks Speed!
You are kidding? I would have thought that this would have been right up their Nascar alley?
October 2 - 4 Bosch Engineering Octoberfest Virginia International Raceway Alton, VA Not televised

Shame.. This is the kind of racing I bet not only us.. but the lovers of those pony cars have been waiting to see... I wonder if they are going to rerun pinks that night?
I'm going to be there tomorrow and sunday with my camera. it should be absolutely awesome. if you see a little blue Ford Escort ZX-2 with a teenager driving it, there's a reasonably good chance that's me. if he produces a camera, there's a VERY good chance it's me

Dumb, really dumb....guess they know their audience but they sure do not know what I want to watch...

As long as we ignore the BMWs and Porsches, I see it like this-
Mustang>Mustang>Mustang>Mustang>Mustang>Mustang>Camaro>Challenger.
With an outside chance of Camaro>Mustang>Mustang>Mustang>Mustang>Mustang>Challenger.
The Mustang has years of development and multiple teams on its side. The Challenger has been around for a few races, but is way behind on development. The Camaro is a wildcard. I'd count the Camaro out completely if it didn't say Penske on the side.
Regardless of who ends up in front, I'd love to have a tight 3-way battle at the front. If nothing else there are bound to be some great photos!
I dunno, Riley Technologies does know how to prepare a quick race car (case in point all the Riley-based cars in Rolex GT and the absolute dominance of the Riley DP in Rolex DP competition), Stevenson Motorsports is a good team, and their driver lineup looks to be quite good as well, although I haven't heard much (not saying much though...) about how good a driver Jeff Bucknum is. I definitely would be surprised if the Challenger does better than mid-pack at best, because like you mentioned, they've been that way all year, have little to no real development on it, and it's a bit porky compared to the rest of the GS cars at the moment
This is too cool
yea, I heard that about the challenger. and I do not discount the stang due to all the development they have behind it. I do want to see what the camaro does
Guess I better start saving for Daytona. At least one series will have good looking race cars. Go Mustang!
That is seriously cool. I can't believe SPEED is skipping it, haven't they had every other Koni race on this year?
I've seen the mustangs and the challengers run and they are fun and fast, but just to clarify one point, they are no longer pony cars, they are full fledged horse cars now. Much bigger than ponies.
