    I'm more interested in how much it would cost to GT2-ify a 993

    One semester while I was in college I crossed through the faculty parking lot each day between classes. Off in the corner, away from the other cars, a brand new silver 993 Turbo S would always be parked. Huge, flared rear fenders, whale tail, meaty tires, enormous yellow brake calipers... at the time, it was the most badass car I had ever seen. Photos just don't do this car justice - you have to see it in the flesh to really appreciate it.

    I like it better in that color.

    Can someone list what range of years are considered 964/993/996?

    So true. There was a black 993 Turbo that lived next to my Dad's office back in high school. They look nice in pictures, but in person it was just such an awesome combination of subtle, evil and intimidating.

    Kind of like Anderson Silva wearing a tux.

    964 = Late 89 - 94

    993 = 93 - Early 98

    996 = 98 - 2005, when the much better looking 997 was released.

    Here's one of the cheapest ones that I've seen. Looks like there's a little damage to the front corner.

    No affiliation...

    I would drive it with that damage.. adds character if you tell somebody you did it on the track

    Judging by the paw prints by the damage, I'd hate to see the cat!

    Grrrr....I always think about selling the RX-8 and picking up a clean 993, but I'm not sure if I'd drive except in bad weather, since the bike is always there, calling me....

    Reminds me of David Duchovny's character's 911 in Californication, with the un-repaired smashed headlight.

    That's about my ideal Porsche, too. Air-cooled, cheap, 'bit scruffy, no spoiler, good colour.
