I done heard that James Clay is borrowing a Drive Gear Spec E30 at VIR this Saturday. It'll be interesting to see if the pro walks away from or even beats the regulars.

All depends on the traffic, back markers, engines letting go, and of course, The Red Mist.

There are a lot of fast guys who run that series in Mid-Atlantic. Mike Skeen was an E30 champ before he got a ride in Rolex or World Challenge. It's no guaranteed lock even if it is James' home track. Jon (from Drive Gear) is a friend - and one of the "regulars". He is no easy mark either - should be great fun to watch.

The DriveGear cars are competitive. Although Spec E30 has quite a bit of talent in this region, Mr. Clay has done thousands of fast laps around VIR and thousands more fast laps elsewhere - almost all in 3-series BMWs, E30 to present. I think the recipe is there for some great racing.
Also worth noting, one of the front-running Spec E30 regulars Mr. Clay would have to get around to win (Chris Cobetto) has moved on to a 2011 Mustang in American Iron.
Can't wait to watch...
