Isn't there something about PVC getting hot enough under a hood to expel noxious gasses and be bad for the sensors (if not for the passengers)?

the white stuff PVC expells some nasty noxious gases when it gets hot.. and it melts at low temps... use the black ABS stuff

I seem to recall hearing that, but not sure if that is fact or wives tale. hopefully someone here has an answer.

of course.. from having more than one CAI on a car.. I can't recall any of them actually getting all that hot. The aluminum one I had on my Hyundai was actually cool to the touch due to the amount of air passing through it.

I have used ABS on both my BMW and Saab with no ill effects
