I'm talking specifically about wheel to wheel - setting up for a pass, racing the car off the "racing line", making full use of the datalogger, that kind of thing.

I'd like to fill my Amazon Christmas wish list with a few titles - anyone have a book to recommend?

    Going Faster - Skip Barber.

I have bought quiet a few, and most are usually more expensive and are worth at most half the content. That book is golden.

It's old school, they didn't have dataloggers when he wrote it, but car control is car control so I highly recommend "the racing driver" by Denis Jenkinson. The guy knew how to write, and since he sat next to Stirling Moss at race pace for many thousand miles, he saw firsthand what it takes to go really fast. Hell it's worth it just for the photos.
