My dad has a 99 Ford Ranger 4 cylinder. And it has started squeaking whenever it goes over low speed bump or you turn the steering hard a low speeds. I am assuming this is the ball joints. How hard are they to change?

If it's over 50k and never been serviced, probably needs about everything; OTR's, BJ's, swaybar links, and shocks.
You are better off to buy the MOOG problem solver upper arms and get an alignment then just replacing the joint, IMO. Lowers are a standard C-press deal.

While you're crawling around under there, check the rear spring shackles. They tend to disintigrate quite quickly, so it's a good thing to keep an eye on them.

I have the same Ranger two years newer, 2001.
I turn the radio up.

I don't know Rangers, but it's possible it could be something else, like worn sway bar bushings. It's worth checking out before you spend money.

Had a 94 Ranger (twin I beam) never had anyof those issues. I did replace the shocks at 100K
I wasn't very nice to the truck either.

I will have a poke round. I guess I could get some one to jump on it while I listen.
