Lamborghini may be best known for its mid-engined supercars, but on several occasions, the Italian company put an engine in front of the driver. Such is the case for its 350 GT, Espada, LM002 and the most recent Urus.

But before the Urus, Lamborghini did offer the world a unique front-engined design study in 2008: the Estoque sedan.

Named for the type of ceremonial sword used by matadors in the bullfighting ring, the Estoque (pronounced es-toke) was a front-engined, four-door sedan unlike almost anything previously seen in the company's portfolio.

Underneath the long hood of the concept was a 5.2-liter V10 taken from a Gallardo which would have sent its power to all four wheels through a seven-spee, dual-clutch transmission.

Shortly after the Estoque was unveiled to the public, there was some speculation as to whether or not the design study would ever make it into production, though no definite answer was given either way.

The question, then, is should Lamborghini stick to making mid-engined supercars, or is the recent Urus SUV proof that buyers are interested in models with more than two doors from the Italian supercar company?

Hey - you forgot the 400GT (one of the most fun cars I've ever owned)!

I'm not a fan of th Estoque.

I really like the looks of the Estoque, but introducing a new sedan would seem to be out of step with current (unfortunate) market trends.

I would drive one.  It has better proportions than the Panamera.

I'm leaning towards RS7 or Panamera...

I like it!  I can't picture any scenario where I'd buy one so it wouldn't be smart of Lamborghini to put it in production based on my opinion but I do like it.

I cant believe im not the only one who thinks that!? I feel like its so obscure. But as soon as i saw this thread and the Estoque reminded me of the 1998 Charger, i started thinking about how it's funny that when Chrysler owned Lambo, the Lambo Portofino sedan informed the shape and style of what became the Intrepid, and the Intrepid informed the 'modern shape' of the 1998 Charger concept, and the 2008 Lambo Estoque reminds me of the 1998 Charger. I dunno, to me that is funny.

I like it and would consider it if I were shopping for that type of car.  However, I would imagine it in a fight with the Aston Martin Rapide for "lowest sales numbers" so I can totally understand why they put the Urus into production instead.  I actually see those on the road with some frequency.

I'll be honest i am strangely drawn to that and I kind of hate 80s Chrysler products.

I can only guess you are an adolescent.  Pardon me if I'm wrong.

There are lots of moms that are supermodels: https://www.vogue.com/slideshow/model-moms-on-runway-2020-collections
