I've been running Dunlop Z2s (not star spec) for the last 4 or so years. Yesterday was my first experience with RE-71Rs. I just have to say, I am astonished at how they can keep improving tires from generation to generation. I found that I driving the way I was used to, I was probably only at 80% and I had to keep resetting my expectations of what the car could do. I was also impressed by the wet grip. It rained on and off throughout the day and they held a lot better than my previous tires. On the wet skid pad, I had to take the car up much faster than I was used to or comfortable with to get it do break rear traction.
Anyway, I had a great day at the track, and besides the mystery of the disappearing coolant, everything went perfectly.
