so i was walking through my favorite scar yard this weekend looking for some final bits to get my hpde ride together, and i stumbled on someone else's old ride. a green vw golf complete with a discovery parts sticker and a GRM #31 number plate sticker. it didnt seem to be wrecked. was it an old lemons car? the victim of a catastrophic engine failure? a failed attempt to get into another autocross class? what makes an old race car end up in the scrapyard? curiosity has the best of me!

Divorce?
More likely divorce prevention.

That's the old Wreck Racing Challenge VW. I saw it at the Henrico RD P-A-P a few weeks ago. I have pictures of it on my phone, but just haven't pulled them off yet.
They apparently junked it because they were running out of room.

I guess they decided to concentrate their efforts on having the V8 miata actually run properly?

well at least we know it isnt because there wasnt any coolant!
they could have at least pulled off the stickers! it made me a little sad to see a junked racecar without any visible trama!
