One of the vacuum nipples on the intake manifold of the engine I am swapping in my Miata was snapped off when I got it. It is the one that the line to the bypass/blow off valve runs to.
Is there a source to get new press in nipples to replace it after I drill it out or would I be better off drilling and tapping it for 1/8" NPT and screwing in a replacement? The only problem with this is the location on the top of the intake manifold. The original was a 90deg angle and the only screw in options I have found are straight, there may be clearance issues with the hood.
Alternatively, could I just plug it off and hook the vacuum line to another nipple on the manifold. The only difference is this is on the top of the manifold tapped into the main chamber. The closest other location would be tapped into the #4 runner, would this cause any problems?
The broken nipple.
What it should look like.
