Sounds like it might actually be close to fruition.

Well, turning exhaust gasses into less gas mileage is easy enough...
All I can think of is the hand-drawn picture of the guy routing his exhaust back into his intake manifold.
Epic fail if there ever was one... LOL
Don't they know that for the perfect balance of performance and efficiency, all you have to do is take energy from exhaust and recycle it?
Lets use the exhaust gases to add 100whp (via turbo) or to get 3mpg more. Hmm...

back to the entire "harness waste heat for electricity". I guess it would work well in a hybrid, if those produce enough heat from the engine in the first place
My two cars were built almost twenty years ago, and they both turn their exhaust into more power. In fact some cars have been doing this since the '30s and '40s.

making power from exhaust bought my house
Wouldn't a turbo/ generator system work better? I'm not much of a scientist, but that really would be using waste energy.
Pretty cool idea anyway. Reminds me of the sterling engine. That's an invention that I'm surprised is not currently applied to anything.

complex and inefficent as of yet. propsed for many devices but making little headway.
Did you see my uncle there? He's been missing since his 100 mpg carb was in Popular Mechanics
And now the government is killing off the guys working on the water/hydrogen things, So they have to be very secretive.
