Poor guy died today in the Indy 300. We all who race know the dangers but it gets you when you hear of a racer perishing.

Looks like a pretty bad crash. As safe as they are, open pit cockpit cars are not designed to leave the ground.

Our thoughts go out to his family and friends. I'm glad we live in a time now where this is relatively rare, but damn it stings.

Terrible day for racing fans. Lots of speculation as to where the series goes next with high speed ovals. I for one think they they should have one oval race a year and that is Indy.
