Hello,

I am a newby to this blog but a long time reader of GRM. I am currently building a 1982 Toyota Supra into an Improved Touring Sedan race car for SCCA.

I am at the point of putting the roll cage in and was wondering if any of you had experience with Autopower roll cages and thier installation into this 2nd generation Supra?

If not any 2nd gen. Supra racers out there?

Bolt in cages do one thing really well, install with a couple of hand tools. Obviously I'm a little biased but if you can, go with a custom cage. In the long run, they really aren't that much more expensive after shipping and you'll have a much better fitting and typically lighter cage than any bolt in or kit.

Try S&W roll cages. The had a lot of stuff for mk3's Probably have some mk2 cages as well.

I bought a weld in cage from Kirk Racing for my first Lemons car and had a freind weld it in for me. The fit was excellent. I highly reccomend them. As I recall, it was within $100 of building the cage from scratch.

I will look into a full weld in cage from Kirk and S&W. Space is a premium for me so it may work out better that way.
