there's the daughter of a driver we all know who was just like that in a driver's school I attended. No passing was allowed, the class I was in wanted to do nasty things to her....

dude, I am totally going to sue the person that secretly videotaped me.
And for the record, my GT2 has 690 hp now, since I added the carbon-fiber header and titanium flywheel.

Sounds like most of the "car guys" I knew in the Army.
"Hey you should do a driving course with me. Or get in on AutoX this weekend."
"Drive around a parking lot? No way dude, I'm used to doing like 160mph on the highway. I'm already a great driver."

There's always seems to be "that guy" at the track.

That's always been one of my goals, to NOT be "the guy who" as in "Remember the guy who....."

Awesome video - I love those guys. When I first started track driving, DE2-3 were pretty much the supercars going slow groups. It was comical - 600 hp modified Ford GTs, Ferraris, etc. piddling around the course and then hammering it on the straights, all the while surrounded by buzzing Civics and Miatas angrily awaiting their point-by.

Reminds me of the Audi driver who "usually drives my Ferrari" at a Lotus club event. He's giving my cousin E36 M3 for driving a Mustang. Um..... Since when does a slower driver get to criticize the guy who just lapped him?

I hadn't really run across that type of driver until I went to the "Fall Fling" at VIR about 7 years ago with some of my Focus driving friends. I thought it was funny watching a couple Vipers driving sedately (except on the straights) around VIR with a pack of snarling Focuses on their tail.
My friends did not share my humorus outlook and a couple of them went to talk to the Viper drivers about their "point-by and floor it" style. Well the second session wasn't any better than the first.
For the third session we made sure the lead Focus was a fully built ITA car with a driver with 25 years endurance racing experience. A "two wheels off" pass of a Viper coming down thru the Corkscrew got the message across very nicely.
The rest of the weekend when one of the Viper drivers saw a Focus in their mirror they slowed way down and let it pass. Gave even the slow Focus drivers the chance to say they had passed a Viper on the track

I usually let them by before I get the blue flag. I have a morbid fear of being an shiny happy person.

During a download session, there was once a guy in my run group who actually had the nerve to ask how he should best deal with all of the slow traffic out there. Yeah, there was an air-cooled Bug in our group, but everyone else seemed to work well with him. Honestly, it was kind of cool seeing an early Bug running on track.
Later that day I was running well with someone in our group and encountered a standing yellow--followed by a waving yellow at the next corner station. Guess who had backed into the tire wall, probably a hundred feet away from the track? Yep, that guy. He did a nice job of mounting the wall, in fact.

among my many other problems.... there is one... my CRX is basically stock ( motor wise) and when faster cars are on my but through the twistys I'm always given the blue flag.... ok no problem... just wish those same corner workers could believe that I've caught those "faster" cars and have them get the blue flag... I'm sure the workers think I've just been pasted ... even the next lap when I'm still on their but... no flag
..... ya I know get a Miata and the workers will be looking for me...
