The post 1992 motor used in Escort/Tracer. Just wondering if there's anything in the Ford/Mazda parts bin that will bolt up in the NS configuration. Why? Well, why not?

According to wikipedia, the Ford Sierra and Morgan 4/4 used a variant of that engine. You could use a gearbox out of those if you're willing to go to the Yew Kay.

    A Merkur should work, too.

The Merkur used a Lima, not the CVH. I don't know if the 'boxes are interchangeable. I'll trust you though!

The Merkur is the same platform as the Sierra, thus the suggestion. I should have said might work.

I think the block to bell housing bolt pattern is the same as the 1.6L Kent & the 2.0L OHC (Pinto) engines. So anything that fits them will fit the 1.9L.

I looked into this a few years back, but never got my hands on parts to verify. But, my research led me to the same conclusion as Jim above.

    In reply to Brotus7:

I've got a BW T4 behind my Ford 1.1L wich is the same as the Kent design.
