I am useing safety washers on my steering end links. Both inner and outer ,on those 2 steering links, but I need to find room on my Alfa Romeo spider to ecotec engine conversion
The centre link is very high . If I could lower it by .5 to.75 inch, that would be great. The centre link has a small arch during left to right steering lock.here are some photos. Very little if any load on this link, shock load is also very minimal.
As you can see,it comes very close to the inner A arm mount.i now have thinner grade 8 nylocks,that well give me a little more space.
The reason, I ask. Shop in the u.k. says you don't need them, they even race there cars without safety washers
