Saw one of these in the QT parking lot this morning, so I waited. Talked to the owner for a second, looked just like this one and it may actually BE this one sine there were only 279 made.

Taking the 1988 context into consideration, it looks pretty sharp. I still prefer the last of the Daytona Z's though!

An interesting piece of 80's nostalgia, to be sure!

This is probably the only model of the many Chrysler/Dodge Shelbys I have never seen. While the Daytona Z may be sportier, I prefer the smaller Charger or this Lancer....probably one of the better looking K-car derivatives.

There is one in Knoxville - a teenager at my church bought one recently. I have not seen it yet. Look forward to though.

Yeah, love these cars, I think they'll be expensive at some point it time, might be awhile though, lol.

    Ever seen one of these?

^ Another low point of the "Shelby" line.

There are very few of those left, people were franticly parting them out for a while, and they dont seem to sell for much unless they are perfect.

That's an interesting body style -- 5-door hatch if I recall correctly.

Yep, Ol Shel knows how to make a buck and on that one that's about all he made.

Not sure that it's the same one...the M&M Racing decal makes me think I know who the car pictured belonged to...and I'm pretty sure that car was parted and crushed.

The Shelby Lancers were neat cars. They were converted to T-II top ends by Shelby like the rest of the '86/'87 Shelby cars ('86 & 8'7 GLHS's, '87 CSX's), had suspension and brake improvements, wheels, etc. There were a total of 800 produced, 400 automatic/leather interior cars and 400 manual/clother interior cars.

I've driven a few and they are very nice cars to drive.

I remember looking at one new in the showroom... and seriously considering it (along with a turbo 5sp 'vert). At least until the salesman ticked me off and I walked out.

I would have been trading in a two year old Dodge 600 'vert which they were unwilling to give me more than a couple of thousand on... explaining that "these cars just don't hold their value well at all... they are basically worthless after a couple of years". Possibly accurate, but a strange selling point to someone looking to buy another one...

No doubt. Did he even make a buck on this one?

I've always liked the Shelby Lancers. I couldn't find one, so I settled for a Shelby CSX.

I think the Shelby Lancers are my favorite of all the Shelby Dodges.

87csx and 88 Csx being 2nd and 3rd. After that it falls into 'stuff i dont really want or care about' territory. lol.

Could be, but the car I saw was the same and had what looked like the remains of a decal removal job, which made me think they could be the same car more than anything. Also had a little rot on the rocker area just like the one pictured.

Looks like this one posted earlier minus the window banner. Maybe add a lil clear coat death.

I really like these. After selling the Volvo, I think I will try a turbo Mopar.

Wow, I didn't know there was a good looking turbo Dodge option. That landed solidly in the "do want" zone.

Dunno, 360hp/400lb-ft, sweet interior, 4x4 option...

Other than the wheels, I dig it!
