Anybody have a good link to detailed rules or diagrams for designing a decent SCCA legal roll cage?

My SCCA rulebook doesn't cover it.

    No SCCA but it's something.

It's not the answer to the particular question you asked, but corner-carvers (.com) has a thread dedicated to cage design that would be worth a read to anyone about to embark on a cage build.

I haven't looked at it lately, but there's some pretty good info in there IIRC.

Are you in an open car in a prepared/mod class? Otherwise, you don't need one.

I am in a closed fiberglass car that will run DEEP 11's.

    I need one.

Does the SCCA require a rollbar for Miatas in a prepared class??? Or a full cage?

    Didn't know that they did.

    Sorry to thread hijack...

    Used to

I know very little about the class rules in Solo, so buyer beware:

You need to look at the General Competition Rules for club racing as the Solo rulebook refers to them. Be sure to use the Production Car specs as a base... your class may allow GT style cages, but start at the Prod. specs for IT, Spec Miata etc. Be careful not to use the 2007 rules in the Appendix as they're their for some grandfathered cars (rules were consolodated in '08)

The GCR is available for download on the SCCA site.

The entire rule book is located on the club website. Just go to scca.com and look in the club racing section. I reread that section every time I start a new cage. The online rule book gets updated quickly.
