I'm trying to sell an engine. After three weeks of advertising it on CL, the only interest I've gotten is from a guy who'd like me to ship it to Taiwan. If you have any experience/advice doing something like this, I'd love to hear it. I'd also be grateful for recommendations on reputable companies that deal with this. Thanks

all i have to say is make sure you get your money before you send anything.

Sounds like a scam to me but use a broker like HTX and they should pay you in US funds drawn on a US bank. I sold a bike for a friends widow to a guy in Australia he used HTX sent me the main HTX contact name and after some talk between HTX and the buyer I got a check Bank of America bank check from HTX. Waited 3 weeks for it to clear and then another week for some guy with a trailer to come pick it up. everyone is happy. The bike now hangs in a bar and comes down twice a year to get raced.

shipping "used" engine can be a royal PITA... not many places will accept it because of the possibility for pollution. New, or rebuilt is a different story
