Is is just me, or has anyone else always thought is was S-H-O? Ford clearly seems to think is should be "Sho".
I don't know, "sho" make me think of "show",
which makes me think of broadway,
which makes me think of something like:

I always thought it was S. H. O. but then again, I pronounced it I rock, because clearly, I do.

As long as they keep selling as fast as they are, it just doesn't matter.
(we are well above target right now, for both Taurus and Taurus SHO

I've always heard and pronounced it "SHO"....

what I always said
saying "show" instead of S.H.O. is like "Nahs" insted of "nitrous." I proves your automotive knowledge is only bad-advertising deep. And this goes for the schmucks that wrote that commercial and the even-worse schmucks that approved it.
wankers.

ok- I call it "show". really, i do.
So what does that say about your theory?
I'm fairly sure that I know WAAAAAAY more about this car than you do.
Eric
The current commercials is the first time I've ever heard "show".

I remember hearing it called that from the beginning of my carreer here. Sort of the tomato/tomaato potato/potaaato thing.
Especially with the v8 sho.

Obviously, my friend, it says you are a schmuck!
Never heard it pronounced as show. Thanks to TIVO, I rarely watch commercials on TV anymore.
To me show and Ford go togehter in a description of all the fake vents and scoops that have adorned the sides of Mustangs over the years.
S.H.O. to me means a Yamaha engined Taurus.
I always thought it was S.H.O. since it stands for special high output or something like that...kind of like S.V.T. used to stand for special vehicles team...
I usually just say Super High Output.
I say "show" and "nahs". Why? because I'm lazy, and I don't care to pronouce extra syllables if I don't have to. If the acronym makes a pronounceable word, and people understand what you mean when you say it, how does that somehow mean you're less knowledgable just because you choose to use it?
Are you somehow smarter if you say "ess see you bee ay" when you're talking about scuba gear?
This is like the "beamer" vs "bimmer" argument. While I know that "bimmer" is correct according to the fanboys, no one around me would know what the heck a "bimmer" was were I to say the word (most are surprised to hear that BMW even makes motorcycles).
So, did anyone call the SVT cars "svit" cars?
aircooled wrote:So, did anyone call the SVT cars "svit" cars?
No, I called my SVT Contour an S. V. T. Contour - and nobody other than serious enthusiasts had any idea what the hell I was talking about.
aircooled wrote:So, did anyone call the SVT cars "svit" cars?
No, but TRD definitely comes out as "turd", lol.
It used to be S-H-O in the earlier years but they have just changed it. It bothers me when my non-car-loving friends call it show.

Not true.
Just a pet peeve. "Show" doesn't make my skin crawl as much as "Nawsss." "Nawsss" doesn't bother me as much as people chewing with their mouths open.
It falls into the same category of saying "porsh" instead of "porsh-uh"...

You do pronounce that Tee Eye Vee Oh as well, correct?
Any time you use initials as a name it should be pronounced as initials.
