I'm stuck needing a new battery for my Dakota, gave it up to my MIL and keep her car running, and my pocketbook showing a few dollars above zero. I searched the previous few battery threads on here, but nothing conclusive on cold weather performance. I really want to put in a lawnmower battery, it's only $26, with a set of side post charging lugs, $3, to make it movable again. Come March though, I need it to move reliably down the road to get to school and back.

So, will it be enough to spin over a crappy Mopar V6? And last? Or do I have to suck it up and buy what I gave up?

Nothing wrong with junkyard batteries.... they worked well enough to start the car that crashed and I can get them for 25 bucks locally.

+1 on the used battery idea. I've gone that route many times.

Only thing wrong with the JY batteries here is the price because he is the only one here. I might hit up unAdvance Auto to see if they have any, but it's a crapshoot there.

didn't somebody once mention "cosmetically" damaged batteries at interstate can be cheap?
