Mass. man crashes snowmobile — in summer

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — Temperatures in Massachusetts are nearing triple digits, but that didn't stop a Northborough man from taking a snowmobile on a joy ride that landed him in the hospital and has him facing drunken driving charges.

Police say 36-year-old Andrew Sikora crashed the snowmobile that had been modified for street use into a telephone pole on Tuesday night.

Witnesses at first reported seeing a screaming man on an all-terrain vehicle speeding through the neighborhood. Then someone called police to report a motorcycle crash.

Police found Sikora on the ground and the snowmobile close by.

He was arraigned in the hospital on several offenses including drunken driving on Wednesday. Bail was set at $5,000.

Police did not disclose the nature of his injuries, but the hospital says he's in stable condition.

Last time I was at a test and tune, there was a guy running 11's on his Yamaha. It had a track that looked like a racing slick.

I was cleaning the barn last week, and took my sled out in the grass. Gotta get my 2 smoke fix

It's not. Why do you think that comes from the people who bring you ski-doo snow mobiles?

Yep-rollers on the front, and take em to the drag strip. They really hook and go faster than some people realize

Given the rest of the story, I'm more likely to believe there were a couple of Harbor Freight furniture dollies under the front skis.

Is there a problem with that? I mean, as long as you use the good duct tape to keep em in place?

I'm thinking steering may be a problem. Then again, it may be part of the entertainment value.
