Ok, so here' my entry in the "This is how ridiculously cheap I got my Miata" contest. Bought this yesterday:

FYI - it is in M Edition (When I asked if it was an M Edition and the dealer said "A what?", I tried not to display the ) Pretty much everything works, it has 78k on the clock, clean title, clean carfax. No apparent mechanical issues. CEL is on but that appears to be linked to a faulty breather in the gas cap (Anyone know if that will trip the CEL? Opening the gas cap seems to temporarily turn the CEL off) Paint is pretty bad, a little bit of rocker rust and the back window (and maybe the whole top) need to be replaced.

This is why I'd hesitate to post a price for something I paid on this forum, because someone would've bought a car with half the miles for a quarter of the price.

Yup.... I get a version of this when I tell people I paid $4k for my turbo brick..."I got mine for (fill in the blank)" or they show me one on craigslist but there's always a slight variation, they never mention the one they are showing me has 280,000 miles, has twice the problems, looks 10 times worse and/or is no longer available, etc. I just laugh and enjoy my car.
