    Why gut the dash/carpet ?

Built for an image, not an application.

Which is the root of the problem. People who "spend thousands of dollars to make a Yugo go fast" do so with a purpose. He's "built" a car that can't even travel along a dirt road without losing parts!

Looking at the Subaru next to it, it's odd how (apparently) awesome that car is next to the total pose-off tC.

I have respect for the guy. I see him more as an artist who is continually playing with the look of his car. He is keeping himself entertained, he is keeping his friends entertained...plus, it probably helps land some of the kinkier girls...

Also, he takes advice pretty well. I've been following his build for a while and gave him some advice on securing the fire extinguisher which he took to heart... (I use the same name over on Dirty Impreza)

Don't love it, but don't hate it either, it's nice to see something different that's not completely dumb. I still prefer the non-stanced Rabbit build on VW Vortex:

love both the TC and the VW.

The TC could probably do well enough off road on light trail roads or gravel stuff. I have no doubt about that. Quality, i dunno but it looks sweet.

The VW is cool cause its still a great looking car with a amazing stance.

    Lots of WIN

The VW and this tC are both super cool in my eyes. I was reading VWVortex, some of those people suck.
Yeah okay ill buy a truck to go down a gravel road!

When my sister gives up on her volvo i plan to do something like this!

I love the actual functionality of this Subaru:

But the Scion is cool, too, in a Mad Max sort of way.

I was recently looking at a BMW X5 that had gotten the same treatment. I just wish people would make a filler panel that would at least cover the bottom of the headlights once the bumper is removed.

don't they brag up the "modifyability" of Scions in their commercials? well, this one's been modified..

That's the only tC I've ever seen that I've liked, stock ones included.

Well we all started somewhere I guess. I remember the rice mods I did when I first started out. It could be worse though. It's not a $60,000 invested show/street car that has an improper suspension set-up (or maybe it is?). Anyhow, if he was following the mainstream trend, his TC would probably be slammed, shaved and tucked with the back seats removed and 80lbs. of strut bars in the trunk.

I dunno. I spent a lot of time destroying perfectly good stuff that didn't belong to me when I was in HS. The last hoorah cost me all of the money I'd saved to buy my first car (3 grand IIRC.) At least this kid had the decency to ruin his own stuff.

    Story?

at least that was my experience when I dated a girl with a tC and we went to scion club meets. there were only a couple guys who had actual performance in mind.

Tc's seem pretty cheap to buy used.. any idea how they do on an AutoX?

We all start somewhere. My car at one time had two 12" subs in it, and I was shopping for neon...

    Not great.

But for a reliable dual purpose car to just have fun with? They're decent cars.

I started out with the same ideas. The problem was I had no money to buy the things I wanted and by the time I did I realized the error of my ways...so I bought a Miata

I agree, roomy inside and in the back. Imagine a Corolla XR of the same year but with 2drs and cooler looking. I wouldn't mind having one just to DD with, but I've heard it's as famous with the cops as 90's era Honda are
