    Bought it last night.

92 CX , owner had a B20 in it. car has only a bubble in the rear 1/4 and original paint! Has brand new snow tires on it. Rear sway bar , Momo steering wheel , and poly bushings.

the kid who had it got too many tickets and parted it out.

Best of all $200... and Im sure I can sell those new tires and rims for $150.

We parted out our old car (too much rust underneath) It had an epic fail at the 08 Challenge due to bad wiring (went dead rich on A/F and wouldn't run).

    Old car:

Gonna build up a nice D series turbo and spend some money on Hoosiers...and above all else. prep prep prep.

Picked these up last week (with tires) for $100 .Revolution racing 15x7's. Our old Omni wheels weighed 38Lb with tires. these are less then 25.

For some reason, I like "funny" colored wheels on that era Civic. Someone I used to work with had 15" wheels painted bright red with a polished lip on a bright yellow car. It looked really good.

Forgot to mention. i need a front fender and a hood. Have pretty much everything else.

the car needed headlights , taillights , Transmission , wiring harness and a few other bits. I managed to wrangle all that up today for $100.. WOOOT!

The DX tranny has longer gears which should be good for my turbo build. Working on getting a D series right now for it. They are plentiful in the $100 range. May throw in some vitara's if the budget has it.

What he said. Killer wheels. Good buy.

My boss' wife just sold her all original, spotless, <100k miles EG Hatch to CarMax for $750. What was wrong with it? seeping head gasket.

    Oh, my lord.

Hell, I'd just get the headgasket fixed and drive it another 100k. Never mind the swap.

    Thought Carmax didn't do that.

DX trannies rock! The one in my '92 was good for 60 in 2nd gear out on the autox course..

They actually probably weren't painted.... Rota makes the GT3 in that color, and a bunch of other normally hideous colors that look great on Civics and Neons in particular, for some reason.

If you're going to turbo it, depending on power for ultimate autocross "baller status," try to find a CX tranny. We used to hit 80mph on a regular basis in 2nd gear with that tranny on the last D16Y8 turbo we did. On the stock car, it would hit the speed limiter in 3rd gear.

Funny you mention the CX tranny..

Just offered a guy $40 for one. I never know what I am going to use in a build, last time my bidget had 3 transmissions and 6 axles in it before I actually took inventory of what I had!

The shift forks in the CX are typically stronger, too. At least definitely compared with the Si tranny. (Let's make the forks out of aluminum for added lightness YES!)

If it's a good tranny, i'd bump your price up a whopping 10 dollars, because $50 sounds that much better to sellers than $40.

What kind of boost/power are you looking for here?

Longish story short, they took it to the Honda dealership where they got a quote for $2700 for the head gasket and a few while-we're-in-theres, Boss' wife said, "Nope." Dealership offered $400, took it to CarMax got $750. I don't know if the people at CarMax looked at really closely or what, but that's where it ended up. They offered it to me for $500 but wanted to see what CarMax would give them.

NICE SCORE! It was cool talking with you guys at the Challenge for the few minutes we had at the track. I'll second angryp's sentiments about the host hotel. Good to know you guys are coming back. Let me know if you want to ditch those swiss cheese wheels.
