I have TIG-MIG-gas-plasma in the shop, and access to a bender. The problem is that Kirk racing can have a nice looking bar with a removable center section on my loading dock for about $550. When I was 40, maybe even 45 if you'd told me that time, not money would be the limiting factor for projects I'd have hit you. Between my job, the consulting work that pays for hobbies, finishing a Sprite and an RD400, and keeping on top of renovation and living? I'll buy one.
As for what the options are:
Kirk Racing - .120" wall x 1.75" DOM tube, removable center section, black paint. $405 +$150 frt.
VRS - .095" wall x 1.75 DOM, removable center section, bare. $875 +$150 frt
TC Kline Racing - .120" wall x 1.75" DOM tube,w/o removable center section, bare. $875 +$150 - add removable center section for $75-$100
For seats it's looking like Cobra Imola 2 GTs or Suzuka GTs will be the way to go. VAC makes the best mounts with the largest range of adjustment. They're a bit more than a steel fixed base but will offer by far the greatest ease of setup.
Harnesses? not sure yet. It's looking like G Forge camlock 6 points are the bargain, but Schroth has a set that aren't much more expensive. We'll see.
