I am going to Auto-X my RX-7 in STS2 this year in local club events. They follow SCCA rules. I read through the SCCA rules which seemed to say that creature comfort mods were OK (in the Stock rules section, I could not find anything in Street Touring). So, can I take out my cassette deck and blown speakers? What about my broken power antenna? My philosophy here is that if the stereo isn't working why keep it in the car. If I have to keep the stereo components in the car I may have a problem with the rules anyway. The previous owner replaced the rear speakers that sit on top of the shock towers with some fancy looking, but junky, Sony Xplod speakers and tossed the stock speaker grill trim pieces. I definitely do not want to have to buy the trim pieces.

    Thanks,

    Ray

I doubt most regions would make a big deal out of it, although at the national level, you may need to have a radio delete panel in place.

You're stuck with Stock rules on stereos.

You can replace (so those crappy X-plod speakers are ok) but not remove, unless the car had a radio delete option. If it had radio delete, you'd need the grilles to cover the holes

    Locally, no biggie, run it!
