Those of you saying it was slow need to watch it again. It's worth watching again on a big screen where you can begin to appreciate the speed and dedication.

    This.

I watched this on the big screen (65") again last night. I've got a bit of a problem with heights and there were a few spots that I was thinking "My god this is beautiful/My god I'm feeling woozy" at the same time.

Pikes Peak is easily my favorite motorsports event.

Side question: Are the turbo cars setup to steadily increase boost up the mountain to make up for the altitude?

The manifold pressure stays the same regardless of the altitude, the turbo just has to work harder. If you have a wastegate set to 30psi the turbo will keep making boost till it hits 30psi.

Just like most other forms of motorsports, it's hard to tell who's fast by looks alone. Rhys actually looked kind of slow when he passed us, yet he was faster than almost everyone else who ran that day. Zwart looked slow, too, but his time doesn't lie.

Monster, though, looked like he was in another dimension. We were there when Millen last ran the Celica, and it was a similar experience. Those cars just bend time. Even though it will be all-pavement next year, there's a good chance we'll be back.
