I got the clutch and trans in and everything back together the way it came apart. The car started right up and I drove it around the block, everything worked great! I did have a check engine light but I broke what I though what was the coolant temp sensor (on the back of the head, below the CAS).

Anyways, I pulled it back in the garage to let it cool for a minute so I could hook up the timing light and re-time it (since I had to pull the CAS). It tried to fire, stalled, and now it won't restart.

    HELP!!!!

I got it to-start (by holding the gas down) and moved it back and forth in the driveway. I shut it off and it re-started fine. Then I jumped the ECU per Keith's book and it wouldn't start again.

    WTF?!?

    Can somebody please help me?!!

    Replace that sensor first??

Coolant temp is one of the most vital sensors for the ECM.

Failed coolant temp is usually red by the ECM as VERY cold, which makes it richen up a lot, usually black-smoke-kind-of-alot. It may be hard to start with the pedal closed. Opening it lets in more air which makes the mixture less rich and easier to ignite. Im not saying thats whats going on here, but its a plausible thing to look into.

    It sounds like it's flooded.

I had a 1990 Porsche 928 with leaky fuel injectors (car had Motronic EFI) that used to do exactly the same thing.

Could be a bad connection on the cam angle sensor, I've done that. Especially since the motor tends to lean back and rest on that sensor when the trans is off.

No, that's Otters, as in Otter Pops. Speaking of Otter Pops, I'm gonna go eat one cause it's flippin HOT out and I'm sweating like Richard Nixon's head at a DOOP trial.
