I'm looking at a JR MP45 supercharger that is currently on a '97 Miata, wanting to put it on a '93. What issues will I run into? Also, I need to put the '97 back to stock. Will the airbox & crossover tube from the '93 work on the '97? Thanks!

Ok, no love? A buddy is interested in a '97 that has a supercharger, but doesn't want the supercharger since the car is for his daughter. I'm interested in working out a deal with him to get the supercharger, but need some info on what I would need to do to put the supercharger on my '93 and put the '97 back to stock for his daughter. Surely someone here has that information?

Dare I say miata.net? The trouble is, with the '93 to '97 cross, you're going from the 1.6l B6ZE to the 1.8l BP engine. So I'm seriously doubting that the parts you take off the '93 will apply properly to a '97 you'd want someone's daughter driving around in.
Depending on the SC kit, there will also be a batch of secondary parts - injectors, engine management, etc. etc. that need to be returned to stock. Does the '97 come with those parts or did the PO ditch them when the blower was installed?
Here's a thought - sell the '93 to your buddy for his daughter and buy the blown '97 for yourself?

My '93 is a salvage title track rat. I haven't had a chance to go look at the '97 in person, it's a stock MP45, so no injectors, etc., just the basic kit, blower, bracket, and is there a different tensioner set-up? I can't remember. Just figured their was more experience on McGuyvering systems on here than on Miata.net, so figured I'd check here first. Just got back into town, hoping to go check out the car Mon. or Tuesday, but looking for info before then.
