I had heard rumors about this since I live in Wilmington but this is the first confirmation I've seen about it - unfortunately it's a delay notice but at least things are still moving forward.

Check out the Cincy solo forum and solo page for more details. They (scca folks) have been putting a lot of effort into making this happen.

So what is this ? Just a different name for autocross ? Sounds more "racey".

"Solo" is just SCCA's term for autocross. The big news for locals is that we may have a national caliber site within easy driving distance of three local regions if all goes well at these first few events. The initial events are being held on an employee asphalt parking lot. If Wilmington is pleased with how things go, SCCA will get access to the concrete pad.
