What are the bikes? I would be willing to take one off your hands possibly depending on price and location.

What year Sportster? That is, iron head or aluminum head?

  • Woody

    Feb. 22, 2010 8:59 a.m. Woody UltraDork

It's aluminum, not sure what year.

  • Dr. Hess

That would make it an 86-up. If there is a "5" on the raised round part on the right side, that would make it a 5 speed. A belt drive would make it about 88-ish up, I think. Anyway, if it's trashed like everything else there, it would be worth maybe 4-500 with a title, max. Little more for a 5 speed. Less if you're running with a bill of sale, depending on your state and depending on how trashed it is. Personally, I would not drag an iron head Sportster home if you paid me. The evo Sportsters (aluminum head) are a totally different animal, but there are enough good ones out there that aren't too expensive to make messing with a wreck not worth it. I've seen decent running bikes sell for under two, especially 4 speeds.

I will have to say that overall this is turning out to be very interesting. I mean you just can't make this stuff up!! Here are several things I don't understand though.

1.Why is/was the owner on the property? After foreclosure isn't it illegal for him to be there keeping people out?

    1. There is an auction being held on a house/property you can't even look at? Come on!!

    2. And of course the last and most obvious and as previously stated........someone paid 181K for that thing!!! What??!! Somebody must know something that's not available to the general public. A hidden Dusenberg in the garage maybe?

    Great story. Keep us posted.

It varies by state and local laws...but here in Missouri, you don't get a chance to view a foreclosure auction property...not legally anyway. You buy it as-is. I bought a house full of phallusses one time. I'm not kidding...they were everywhere.

    Step one: Buy house
Step two: Remove phallusses, gallon containers of urine, and literally (literally) tons of gay porn. Clean thoroughly.
Step three: Sell house for tidy profit.

It's kinda like that southpark forumula but without the question marks...and with more phallus.

    Phalluses everywhere...must...resist...

That's the best thing I've heard all morning. I hope you kept at least 20 of 'em for some kind of epic prank. A couple co-workers were planning a phallus mohawk on our boss's car, but it never came to fruition.

    Obligatory PCU reference,

"Hi, could you tell Samantha that Mr. Winky stopped by?"

    "Mr. Winky?"

"I believe he was referring to his phallus."

"You participated in a phallus naming?"

    "I was a Freshman!"

    "Fresh-person, please!"

Good drinking movie for the folks of my generation (1995 grads)

That's not the sort of "interesting" I'd be going for...

So...the funniest reaction to the house was when the lady who was in charge of holding the sale of all the stuff in the house picked up a male-enhancement-pump and said "what's this" before reading the package and immediately, as if by reflex, dropping it.

How bad is the camaro? If you end up with it and want to dispose of it I may be intrested. It looks like my 79 but obviously it is hard to tell with all that mess on it.

It's an 81 Z28 and I didn't look to closely at its condition.

But the whole thing seems moot at this point. It's been a week and I haven't been contacted yet.

I bought a Jeep and I'm moving on.
