I know right? The MaxQData (.2 sec frequency) has had it over 1.3 sustained... on street tires (well, bridgestones RE-01Rs... but still). The thing I like about STS2 is that the tire budget is a lot cheaper. I can do a lot of the fun modding / tinkering things that are allowed in CSP (to a point...), and instead of tires that last 40 runs and cost $200 each I have tires that last 150 runs and cost $100 each. The smiles per dollar on that are ridiculous.
Also, I'm one of those that enjoys the competition aspect of it. I like knowing how I stack up to the other drivers, so having a decently set up, fully prepared car pretty much narrows any time lost (and there's tons of it) down to just driver. I can afford to have a car that is right on the edge of the class rules (minus $4000 shocks, but I digress) and afford to run it. SP is a little rich for my blood
Cliffs notes: marshmallow tires are expensive.
