There is a '82 GT for sale on my AutoX club message board that is practicly free(asking $1500, no aparent rust, strong 302 runs well, plus its got a fresh Edlebrock 650).
I know the 5.0 is the Miata of drag racing, and that it takes some $$ to make them turn, but I'm still tempted. I've been a FWD guy forever, so I'm temted by images of smokey burnouts and tail out shennanigans. And torque.
After tires, how far would $500 in suspension mods get me in trying to get it to turn, and where would be a good place to start?
I haven't bought it yet, so this is all hypothetical. Thanks.
