Thanks for all the comments. We are trying to combine teams with H&S Racing and hope to have 2 new vehicles for $2010 but if they are not done in time the Miata will be plan “B”.

Great job guys!!! The car looked beautiful. I too am familiar with the woes of painting inside the garage. I destroyed every bit of laundry in the basement. Mamma was none-too-happy with her Grandma-made blanket being 'pimped' in General Tso Orange.

As you may remember I LOVED seeing that car and commented to several people that if i could just grab one car and run off with it, that would be the one, because id actually use it!

I do agree the bmw wheels make the car.

Im starting to see miatas down around a grand fairly frequently now, so i MAY be buying one in the next year or two. Not for the challenge, though.

Thanks for the writeup, my curiosity has finally been salved!

Eric, if you're looking for a "Miata friend" to help out with a Challenge build, you know where to find me! Didn't you just tell me that I need to do a Challenge one of these years?

Right now, it has to be the other way around- I've got to finish my current projects before I can start. So it's your project.

    I'll drive.

The problem is Tom's Miata won't be challenge legal until were all about 2,000 years old! Better start popping the vitamins guys

And with what I want to do with it, it would not be a sellable Miata after the challenge. Well, if we can find some replacement parts, maybe. But lightness would be the top focus.

I didn’t really regret selling my Miata till I saw what the new owner has done to it. This just looks stupid. I’m annoyed it took me over a year to do all the body work and it now looks like this on purpose. Oh well, new owner is free to do whatever he wants.

Well, it, uh, has some comedy value at least...imagine the joy it will bring to countless passers-by.

or imagine the flamboyant connotation laid upon miata owners which that stupid thing will only work to reinforce...

Gay dudes typically have good fashion sense and wouldn't be caught dead in that thing.

    Well, maybe a gay clown.

I still say we find it and blow the thing up to put it out of it's misery. It makes me really angry that this kid destroyed all the hard work you put into that car.

You created it, and you can destroy what it has become.

At least I know that if I ever sell my CSX when it's done, some Turbo Mopar nerd will buy it and I won't have to worry about this kind of crap.
