Thanks Grandpa, My uncle, and my wifes cousins!

...And all the other Vets out there, my gratitude could never be fully expressed.

Whenever I see a serviceperson in uniform on the street, I take a moment to stop and thank them for their service. Its the least I can do.

As a veteran, I'd like to thank all those who went before me into service and especially those who are still wearing the uniform.

In honor of Veterans day, I'm working from home in my pajamas and hanging out with my kids. (who get the day off and could use some supervision anyway.)

However, you can bet that I'll be collecting on my free lunch from Applebee's.

You all deserve more than just a free lunch....

Help a veteran find a "cheap" 911, lol. I feel strange calling myself a veteran; it makes me feel old. Then again, there is an entire generation of veterans my age now. It's still weird, though.

My father was in the Pacific during WWII. I only wish I could thank him in person instead of at the cemetary.

It's sad to think that we are losing most of the Veterans of that war.

Thanks to all of my fellow Veterans!

I already nabbed the 6" Subway sub and I'm meeting a co-worker and my Stepdad at Applebee's for lunch. Trying to decide between Olive Garden and Outback for dinner.

On Veterans Day: I say "thank you" to the waitress that refills my coffee and the guy that holds the elevator door for me. "Thank you" is easy and quick on the lips, yet iIt hardly seems sufficient to convey my admiration to a citizen that was in a position to give their life for this great country. I thank God that there are men and women who have it in them to put everything on the line for their country and it's people. Veterans have proven their grit and determination and I respect the hell out of that.

There are vets who have not seen combat, vets that have seen Hell, vets that come back whole, vets that come back in pieces, vets that come back in boxes...and vets that don't come back at all. This country would be nothing without the valor and sacrifice of these courageous men and women. God bless them all. And God bless and keep safe the heroes of the current fighting forces.

I am eternally grateful for the life I and my family enjoy because of those that have given up their comforts, risked and given up their lives. Your efforts and sacrifices are greatly appreciated.

I never quite know what to say when I'm told "thank you" for serving. You might as well thank the sun for rising that morning. Not to say its not appreciated, I did it because it was needed.

I still give a reserved "you're welcome" or "thank you too" if its a fellow veteran.

They were giving out freebies on veteran's day. They don't normally do it.
