The Answer 2016 Race Series

At SEMA Mazda announced a "global" Cup Series for The new 2016 MX-5 C&D Cup Series article. They haven't told us what countries are involved.

Mazda trying to beat Porsche at their own game?

So if a base car is $30k, can they deliver a race car (sans seat and harnesses, because people have different sized butts) for $40k? $50k?
If it takes $20k to build a spec Miata with fresh everything, would a $40k buy in start to make sense?
