Targa Newfoundland and Hurricane Maria, Carbonear 2 Stage 5-5.

During Carbonear 1, many of the cars were bottoming out just before this turn, so the cars were a little out of shape at this point. Tricky in the dry. Must have been lots of fun for the drivers in the wet second stage.

This was the only time it actually rained on me in a week of Newfoundland weather.

I was chased out of Savannah by a hurricane producing tornados. I was on a Kawasaki EX500. No fun at all. I had red leathers at the time. My skin was red for a week. Only time I had a girl laugh at me when I dropped trou.

Awesome. My 2-hour wet stint at lemons was the most fun I've had in a car that didn't have a bench seat.

You know it's serious when the Newfoundlanders seek cover.

There was a BIG unmarked crest right before that point. We didn't bottom out, we got our rear wheels about 1' off the ground! Very exciting.

That was a lot of rain.
